Sound

Turns every sound off or on: guns, engines, sirens, the phone and the car radio. It starts on.

Radio

Sets the car radio volume: high (the default), mid, low or off. The station itself you change in a car with . and ,, or the RADIO button on a phone. See the car radio.

Graphics

  • Auto (default): the game lowers the detail when your device struggles, and sharpens the picture again once it runs smoothly.
  • High: always full detail. Pick this if the picture looks blurry to you.
  • Low: less detail, for older phones and laptops.

Map style

Colourful shows the city in full colour. Simple uses a grey base map and grey districts, so the markers for shops, jobs and players stand out more.

Calls

Your burner phone brings drug customers to you (see Drug business). Switch Calls: off when you want peace: no new calls or texts, and asks you have not answered lapse without any penalty. Story texts still arrive, silently.

PvP

Off by default. Switch it on to fight other players who have it on too. Switching it back off takes 60 seconds, and is not possible in the middle of a fight. Full rules on the PvP page.

Voice

Turns proximity voice chat on. Then hold V (or Hold to talk on a phone) to speak. While you speak the button shows Voice: LIVE.

Phones: portrait or landscape

There is no setting for it: just turn your phone. The game has a full upright (portrait) layout and a sideways (landscape) layout and switches between them by itself.
